CVI pressure furnaces are used for a variety of processes associated with the
production of hard metals and ceramics. Full densification with limited additives
and conventional zero A of TRS, toughness and grain growth tradeoffs;
The Sinterbar 800 is fully capable of complete combination cycles incorporating
delube, vacuum sinter and pressure sinter. Partial pressure control, flowing
atmosphere control, flowing atmosphere control and reactive gas management are
typical features.
The Sinterbar 800 is a large load furnace robust enough for
"large piece" type runs and thermally tight enough to accomplish large
insert runs.
Features:
- 6 independent zones of thermal control
Run to run repeatability and excellent uniformity for all process cycle
sub-sections: delube, vacuum sinter and pressure sinter
- Robust Cooling Enhancement
The furnace design has been modified to achieve rapid cooldowns without the
addition of high maintenance items like fans, shutters and retort connectors;
The furnace actuates both doors sections (retort and insulation) partially
open and allows the hot pressurized gases to use their enormous free
convecting energies. The product sees direct forced convection.
- Unique delube and improved vacuum flow conductance
Faster more repeatable delube cycles while minimizing that "cold
spot" effects typical of most sintering furnaces that utilize retorts. The
bottom insulation pack and delube ports are integrated as a single piece
incorporating both radiant deflection and thermal insulation.
- Improved convection interference
Better uniformity and lower energy consumption
- Stainless steel inner and outer jackets
Very long useful lifetimes, minimized water degradation concerns
- Improved feed-thru design
Mean time to repair (MTTR) and Mean time to failure (MTTF) improvements

Control Strategy
CVI works with two basic control strategies:
A more conventional PLC based control system with Programmable, event based controls
or a more capable, fully integrated PC based control system:
PC Based Control
- Pentium Based PC workstation
- Intellution based architecture for DDL
- Full Data Acquisition Capability
- Custom Reporting
- Remote System operation / System Multitasking
- Turnkey electrical integration
PLC Based Control
- Programmable, event based control
- PLC for trouble free system interlocking logic
- Discrete controls for individual sensors with communication
- Turnkey electrical integration
- Optional remote interface
