April 2003 - Nashua, NH - Centorr/Vacuum Industries' announces the acceptance of an advanced, high
temperature high vacuum brazing and diffusion Hot Press Furnace at a major university in the
Peoples Republic of China.
The furnace is capable of 1315ºC and of producing a force of 30 tons. The furnace, equipped
with a usable Hot Zone that is 12" wide x 18" deep x 12" high, has tungsten rod
elements and molybdenum shields that assure a clean brazing environment.
In the hot pressing procedure, stable cold rods are attached to the graphite hot rods and reaction
plates to provide close parallel clearance of less than .002 inches. The hot press and vacuum
systems are operated by manual direct panel control or by automatic means. A double-walled, 304L
chamber with welded and dished heads was added to this system to ensure high vacuum integrity and a
long, corrosion-free life.
